The Challenge
Fernwood Fitness is Australia's largest women-only gym chain — 70+ locations, 70,000 members, and a brand built on empowering women through fitness. But their digital experience hadn't kept pace with the physical one. Members were managing bookings, memberships, and progress across disconnected tools that varied from club to club.
The scope was enterprise-grade: build a unified digital ecosystem that works across 70+ independently operated locations, each with its own class schedules, staff, and member base. The platform needed to handle class bookings, member engagement, multi-location management, and data integration — all while maintaining the personalised, community-driven experience Fernwood is known for.
The challenge wasn't just technical — it was operational. Every feature had to work for a single-club member in regional Victoria and a multi-club member in Sydney. The system had to integrate with existing gym management software, respect franchise-level autonomy, and scale without breaking the member experience.
